Brush Settings panel overview
There are thousands of different brushes and you can be as creative as your imagination takes you with how you apply these to your work. Today I would like you to experiment with creating a range of different marks using the different brush tools.
TASK 1
Fill a PS page with brush marks and then save as a JPEG - Upload to your website and provide a brief annotation to explain your work.
take an image of yourself and a friend and reduce the opacity in ps so that it is barely visible.
inspiration - ARNAULF REINER
Rainer's style evolved towards Destruction of Forms, with blackenings, overpaintings, and maskings of illustrations and photographs dominating his later work.
TASK 2
research on art2day for inspiration and ideas for how you could incorporate the brush tools into your photography - look at artists like francoise neily who uses very expressive flourescent colours. you could paint over photographs to adjust and edit
present your research and ideas on a PPT and upload to your website - research photoshop techniques by watching some tutorials online
task 3
create at least two edits influenced by the artist that you have chosen to demonstrate how you have used the brush tools to create your work
annotate your work to explain the process that you have followed and to assess how successful your work has turned out.
how would you improve your work if asked to complete a similar task?
what have you learnt about the possibilities of using the brush tools?
extension task
david hockney is a remarkable artist and you could look at how he has embraced technology
use this new medium to create your own hockney style drawing stroke by stroke
