learning about the approach to photography of Roman Sakovich often referred to as documentary photography
how to respond to a brief - addiction - the effects of drugs
using makeup and other props to convince the viewer and to create a make believe situation
London photographer Roman Sakovich has hit a nerve – many nerves that is, including mine – with his recent portrait series titled “Half”. Thru some simple but astute post production, Sakovich combines the two halves of a person…on the left ‘before’ addiction & abuse, and on the right, after, at full throttle. Certainly the studio photos have been enhanced, but the results don’t waver. Simple photographs, compelling + robust narrative. Signs of good art. #Respect. Great series, Roman.

then load in photoshop and begin the tutorial below will take you about 30-40 minutes the first one is a little more complicated than the second one.
summary of stages
1. Upload both images and then place the images on separate layers 2. Align them using the rulers and warp tool 3. Make sure that the older person is above the younger person 4. Create layer masks and start to delete excess areas as you only want to focus on the face 5. Make sure that the young persons eyes are still visible 6. Use the brush tool to erase the features to reveal the younger persons features 7. Look at the skin tone and adjust to make it look dry 8. Focus on the wrinkles and don't add too many 9. Use a filter to make the lips look dry and older. Liquify is a good tool to use to draw the eyes and lips to shrink them
